Tener algo - To have something

¿Como se dice TENER ALGO en inglés? Cuando se habla de cosas o características que tiene o posee algo/alguien, el verbo TENER se traduce al verbo inglés TO HAVE o TO HAVE GOT y la frase TENER ALGO se traduce así:

Tener algo

To have something o To have got something

Por lo tanto, cuando quieres expresar que tu mismo o alguien tiene algo se dice, por ejemplo:

Tengo coche.	I have a car. I have got a car.*
Tienes un grano en la cara.	You have a pimple on your face. You have got a pimple on your face.
El tiene pelo largo.	He has long hair. He has got long hair.
Ella tiene una cara bonita.	She has a pretty face. She has got a pretty face.
Tiene cuatro ruedas.	It has four wheels. It has got four wheels.
Tenéis miedo del oscuro.	You have fear of the dark.
Tienen una hija.	They have a daughter. They have got a daughter.
La persona tiene una personalidad fuerte.	The person has a strong personality. The person has got a strong personality.
Gente tiene hábitos raros.	People have strange habits. People have got strange habits.
La casa tiene jardín.	The house has a garden. The house has got a garden.
Coches tienen ruedas.	Cars have wheels. Cars have got wheels.
Alex tiene un agujero en sus pantalones.	Alex has a hole in his trousers. Alex has got a hole in his trousers.

Los ejemplos están escritos en tiempo verbal Presente, es decir,  SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE de inglés. Cuando se habla en SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE el verbo TO HAVE tiene dos formas, HAS y HAVE:

• Se usa HAVE cuando el poseedor es I, YOU, THEY, PEOPLE o un sustantivo plural como CARS, HOUSES, etc.
• Se usa HAS cuando el poseedor es HE, SHE, IT, alguien (ej. ALEX) o un sustantivo singular como CAR, HOUSE, etc.

*Es importante saber que el verbo TO HAVE GOT es un verbo modal con sus propias reglas. Su uso solo pertenece al tiempo verbal de SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE de inglés. Su uso no es tan común como el uso del verbo TO HAVE. Por eso, se recomienda usar el verbo TO HAVE en lugar de TO HAVE GOT.
